One of the most popular fabrics in the world for both men and women is denim or jeans. If a survey is carried out to determine the one clothing article that unites people all over the world, regardless of race, creed, location, status and other factors, it will probably be jeans. Several reasons account for this popularity and they include: affordability, durability and versatility. Ladies have it better because they can have denim in two styles: denim pants and denim skirt. Admittedly, the most popular one is the pants but denim skirts are also catching up on the popularity scale.
A jeans skirt strikes a balance between two important points: style and ease of wear without compromising one for the other. Since this two points are very important, little wonder then that the denim skirt is fast gaining acceptance particularly in these days when a lot of innovations are being added to it. The vast array of designer jeans skirts in the market bear testimony to this statement. These innovations are responsible for the teeming variety in the different types of denim skirts available in clothing stores all over the place. Some of these denim styles are described below.
Straight Skirt: just like normal ones, a straight jeans skirt is one that drops down from the hips in a straight-like manner. There are different types of straight denims and they range from above the knee, knee length, slightly above the knee to ankle length skirts. All these styles are suitable for different body types. For example, a straight knee length denim skirt is suitable for big hipped women while a calf length skirt will look good particularly on tall women because it doesn’t make them appear so tall.
A-line Denim Skirt: this type of skirt is fitted to the thighs and hips but then drops away to a wider hem below just like the letter A. This is the basic prototype but there are several variations. This type of skirt is particularly suitable for pear shaped or wide hipped women since the wide hem evens out the hips while flaunting them nicely.
