We all love our faithful pair of jeans. They are great for everything from taking the children to the park to lounging around the house and a night out on the town. But are we all getting a bit fed up with the wearing our jeans like a uniform and is it high time we traded them in for something a bit different. This summer all sort sorts of dresses are in fashion and if it turns out to be the scorcher that we are all hoping for, we will be glad of some cool and super stylish dresses for a bit of laid back summer chic.
Just about anything goes this summer when it comes to dresses from sixties style mini dresses seen on the catwalk at Chloe to ethnic and global style maxi dresses seen at the Matthew Williamson show. Dresses are everywhere on the high street in all of the key trends including ruffles, romantic, chiffon and floaty, fifties style, striped, Boho chic and floral.
But what is it about dresses that makes them so irresistible. I love dresses because there is so many you can choose a different style to suit the mood or occasion. From day dresses to evening dresses and cocktail dresses to Prom dresses, you can always find a dress to make you stand out in the crowd and look and feel great. Dresses are easy to wear, no need to match a tops and bottoms, you can just get up fling on a dress and go (perhaps with a few lovely accessories). If you need a new outfit they also often work out a more cost effective option than buying trousers or a skirt and a top.
There are so many dresses in the shops, you are sure to be able to find one that will really suit you. Floral tea dresses are the ultimate in easy to wear and universally flattering. Maxi dresses are great for covering up white legs or larger hips and thighs. For hour glass shapes, the fifties style dress cinched in at the waist and with a full skirt will look gorgeous. Empire line dresses are perfect for pears and a twenties style dropped waist dress is a stunning choice for apples. If you are brave enough this summer try getting a dress in one of the latest prints which include tribal, animal print and painterly. What ever you choose to wear this summer, if you wear a dress, you will really look like you have made an effort even if you haven’t.
